Programming for Newly Admitted Students
Through the Office of Summer Sessions, Transfer Edge is a six-week summer program designed to immerse incoming transfer students into the academics and culture at UCSB. The program serves as a bridge between prior educational experiences and the next chapter of your academic journey.
The Summer Transfer Transition Program (STTP), through the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), helps EOP transfer students adjust to student life at UCSB through an in-person week of opportunities to build support networks with current transfer students and UCSB staff who serve the student community.
Interdisciplinary (INT) courses are offered as a way to explore topics and issues that aren't limited by disciplinary boundaries. Many INT courses can help transfer students become more acclimated to UCSB. Such courses include:
- INT W120: Transferring to the Research University
- INT W188C: Transfer Exploration Seminar: Ways of Thinking & Practicing Communication
- INT W188E: Transfer Start Seminar: Economics
- INT 111: Emerging STEM Disciplines
- INT 186: Transfer Exploration Seminars
Through the Office of Admissions, recently admitted transfer students are invited to campus for an in-person event where students can meet various campus representatives, attend panels with current transfer students, and get a tour of campus!
