Academic Advocates Mentoring Program
Academic Advocates is meant to support the sustained engagement between first-generation and transfer students with various campus resources.
Economics Tutoring
In collaboration with the UCSB Economics Department, the TSC offers Economics tutoring for Econ 10A in the Fall and Winter, and for upper division required Econ courses in the Spring.
Faculty Mentoring Program
The Faculty Mentoring Program offers faculty the chance to meet with a small group of transfer students to dine together and for students to learn more about the faculty member's experiences in academia.
Professor Lunch Hours
Professor Lunch Hours offers students the opportunity to learn from and get to know professors outside the classroom in an informal setting and on a more personal level.
Thriving, Not Surviving: Navigating Higher Education as a First-Generation College Student
This program introduces undergraduate students to graduate school and connects them with first-generation UCSB graduate student mentors.
Warm Up to a New Major/Minor
This event is hosted during the Winter and Spring quarters and allows students to learn more about different major and minor programs.
Community-Building Programs
Coffee & Community
In collaboration with the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), the TSC offers a weekly space where first-generation transfer students can connect, craft, and enjoy coffee and tea.
Collaborations
The TSC offers quarterly collaborations with campus departments to connect transfer students with various resources. Previous collaborators include Career Services, EOP, the UCSB Library, and more!
Peer-Led Events
Programs and events held by TSC Peer Mentor staff that focus on specific transfer student needs.
Study & Self-Care Week
Study & Self-Care Week (SSCW) focuses on programming that helps students de-stress and build self-care habits. This week takes place during Week 10 of each quarter.
