Bio: Raven is a transfer student from Diablo Valley College in the East Bay Area. She is a First Generation student who is chipping away at her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and minor in Applied Psych. Before transferring to UCSB, Raven spent her time working in service industry jobs and going to school. Working with people has been a growing love inspired by her previous employment. She aspires to go to grad school and work in the Counseling or Therapy field. In her free time you can find Raven exploring artistic endeavors, improving her sewing skills, riding her motorcycle, and taking in the sun. Raven implores you to come into the TSC for the guidance and snacks she herself enjoyed during previous quarters!   

Advice for Transfers: It’s very normal to feel very lost after transferring to another school. Whether you’re from Nor-Cal like me, out of state, or the far away parts of So-Cal; changing schools, moving to a new town, and making new friends is an intimidating feat. It makes sense why it’s hard. But it’s important to keep your head up, carry a positive attitude, and learn to feel comfortable around change. College will teach you to pivot. Don’t feel reluctant to ask for help along the way! That’s what the TSC is truly here for.
