Bio: I’m a fourth-year transfer student from Pasadena City College. I’m a first generation student and I’m currently working on getting my Bachelor's Degree in Communication. I love going to the beach as well as going on hikes and evening walks. Although there are times where I love being outside, I also love staying in and binge-watching TV shows and movies. Another thing I enjoy doing is thrifting and trying new coffee shops, especially if I’m accompanied by my friends or family.
Advice for Transfers: Although the transition can be difficult and a little scary, it’s important to remember all the resources that are available and that will make the transition a lot smoother. Whether it be academic or personal support, I encourage transfers to reach out to these resources, who will be more than happy to help. Another thing I would like to encourage transfers to do is to create connections and friendships with students. You definitely have to put yourself out there and it can sometimes be out of your comfort zone, but it will eventually help create connections. Having a good support system while at UCSB will allow your experience to be extra special.
