What helped you prepare for transferring to UCSB?

I joined Facebook groups, browsed through the UCSB Reddit page, and searched online to answers to various questions/concerns I had at the time.

What was one of your biggest concerns before transferring that ended up not being a concern?

I was afraid that I would have a hard time finding a place to belong. I was able to overcome this by joining a club. Joining a club and forming bonds with my club members has really made a large difference in my overall experience here.

What advice do you have for new transfer students?

Do your best/be yourself/put yourself out there/be proactive to the best of your ability. Don’t over work yourself and take time to enjoy your surroundings. Your time here truly goes by quick so make sure to experience all that you can!

How did you decide what student organizations to participate in?

I wanted to join a social group that I would want to stay involved with and found genuine interest in.

Which housing options would you recommend?

As a Transfer student, I think it would be better to live in the university owned apartments as they tend to consist of mostly transfer students who can relate to one another.
