Neema was a Junior transfer from Fresno State University but is originally from Modesto, CA. Neema is a first-generation Afghan-American working towards achieving her BA in Sociology as well as a minor in Education Studies. Neema’s plan after graduation is to attend graduate school in order to pursue her interests in working with the infrastructure of secondary and post-secondary schooling. In Neema’s free time she enjoys working out, reading, making coffee, and spending time with her friends and family.

Advice to Transfers: The process of transferring can be overwhelming at times so don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help. UCSB offers many resources for students and some are specific to transfer students. Most importantly, don’t forget to immerse yourself into the campus community and enjoy your time at UCSB!
