New! Juan Valencia

Saturdays & Sundays 10-2

My name is Juan Valencia. I am a fourth-year English major from Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. I have previously worked as an ACE writing tutor for EOP, and I have also worked as a peer mentor for Academic Advising’s Undergraduate Mentorship Program. My passion for teaching has greatly motivated me to excel in these positions, a passion which I hope to exercise professionally in the field of education in the future. One of my main hobbies is reading and writing fiction, which is further proof of my unending curiosity and devotion to the writing process, which I am always delighted to guide other fellow students through.

Returning! Jason Ouyang

Sundays 10-2

Hello, my name is Jason Ouyang. I am a fifth-year double major in Psychology and Economics with a minor in Spanish. I have been with CLAS for one year, and in the past I have worked as a drop-in tutor and an ACE tutor. In addition to tutoring, I am a student programmer at CARE, which stands for Campus Advocacy Resources and Education. I also am chair of Men of Strength, a student organization that promotes healthy masculinity. As a CLAS tutor, I have enjoyed meeting and working with fellow students on papers and other writing assignments. I believe writing is important as it can enable us to think more critically and to clarify our own values. I look forward to seeing you all at weekend tutoring, and here's to a successful quarter!
